Osthi is all set to hit the screens from December 8th. Osthi was postponed for Dhanush's Makkam Enna which got released today. Osthi Starring Simbu and Richa in the lead and comedy tracks by Santhanam.

Dharani is very confident Osthi will do big and he will be a succesful director and it will be a comeback for him in Tamil cinema.

Thaman music tracks have already a hit and the songs have come out well and its sure that simbu fans will start dancing in theatres.

Nanban is ready to hit theatres

By now all the Vijay fans must be waiting for their favourite actors upcoming movie Nanban  in which Vijay has shared screen space with Jeeva and Srikanth.  As reported earlier, it was supposed to hit screens as Diwali bonanza.  But now Kollywood sources confirm that the makers of the movie have decided to release it for Pongal in 2012.  Though there were a lot of speculations that the movie would hit the screens on Diwali, later it was said that the filmmakers are keen in releasing the movie in the month of December, as a treat for Christmas.

Well now, according to latest news, the movie’s director Shankar, is eyeing for a Pongal slot.  Known to all that the movie Nanban , produced by Geminie Film Circuit is a first remake movie of director Shankar.  Ileana portrays the lady lead role in the movie while Sathyaraj, SJ Suryah are donning the other prominent roles.  Stay tuned to know about the exact release date of the movie shortly.

Kamal's" Swapna Sanchari" is not a bad movie

Kamal's" Swapna Sanchari" is not a bad movie. Its a one time watch Good movie. You cant say the theme is fresh. Becoz We have seen similar story lines and similar characters in many other movies. Script writer Gireesh Kumar hasnt gone out of his safe zone and tried anything different. The structure of the sequences has similarities with his previous hit movie "Veruthe Oru Bharya".
                         Well, about the ...movie, its about Ajayachandran Nair an NRI, played by Jayaram and how his life changes drastically through various circumstances. Many of the Gulf Malayali's will find this movie a little more interesting, as they might have seen people like Ajayachandran in their real life. Ajayachandran is someone who wants to make it big in life through business. As he was brought up in a very bad financial and social setup he wishes to live an exotic life. After his return to his home land after a highly successful NRI life, he is always bothered about his image and social status. These ego and superiority/inferiority complex leads him to a lot of troubles. Movie doesnt portray Ajayachandran Nair as a totally negative guy. He has a nice side. But his ego makes him a totally different man.
                           Kamal's direction is good. The screenplay is also smooth. Doesnt lag at any point. The humor in the dialogs were a little less. But the thoughtful dialogs were good. One thing that stood out in "Swapna Sanchari" is Azhagappan's Cinematography.
                      Performance wise, Jayaram has given his 100% to Ajayachandran Nair. I loved his performance towards the climax, especially combination scenes with Meera Nandan and that final song.Bhama did a small character in climax as  Jayaram Daughter. Samvritha also did one more memorable worthy character. Innocent, Salim Kumar, Jayaraj Varrier and many others did their roles neatly in the movie. The girl who played the role of Jayaram's daughter wasnt up to the standard.
Overall "Swapna Sanchari" is a typical malayalam movie with family melodrama, social values and some natural fun element. Its a nice one time watch.

നയന്‍സിന്റെ 'രാമരാജ്യ'ത്തിന് മികച്ച പ്രതികരണം

 നയന്‍താര സീതാദേവിയുടെ വേഷത്തിലെത്തിയ തെലുങ്ക് ചിത്രം 'ശ്രീരാമരാജ്യ'ത്തിന് തീയറ്ററുകളില്‍ മികച്ച പ്രതികരണം. എന്‍.ടി.ആറിന്റെ മകനും സൂപ്പര്‍താരവുമായ ബാലകൃഷ്ണ രാമന്റെ വേഷത്തിലെത്തിയ ചിത്രം കഴിഞ്ഞ 17നാണ് റിലീസ് ചെയ്തത്.


സ്ഥിരം ഗ്ലാമര്‍ വേഷങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്തമായി സീതയായെത്തിയ നയന്‍താര മികച്ച പ്രകടനമാണ് കാഴ്ചവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. 


പഴയകാല ക്ലാസികായ 'ലവകുശ'യുടെ കഥയെ ആധാരമാക്കിയാണ് ശ്രീരാമരാജ്യം ബാപ്പു തിരക്കഥയൊരുക്കി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. പുരാണ കഥയാണെങ്കിലും സാങ്കേതിക മികവും താരങ്ങളുടെ പ്രകടനവും മികച്ച അവതരണവും ചിത്രത്തെ തെലുങ്ക് പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ സ്വീകാര്യമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

'അരികെ' തുടങ്ങി

ബന്ധങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്‍ക്കാഴ്ചകള്‍ തേടുന്ന ശ്യാമപ്രസാദിന്റെ 'അരികെ' എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ചിത്രീകരണം കോഴിക്കോട് ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്ത് തുടങ്ങി. സിനിമാ സമരത്തിനുശേഷം തുടക്കമിടുന്ന ആദ്യചിത്രമാണിത്. മേയര്‍ എ.കെ. പ്രേമജം സ്വിച്ച് ഓണ്‍ നിര്‍വഹിച്ചു. മാതൃഭൂമി ഡയറക്ടറും ഫിയാഫ് ഫസ്റ്റ് വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റുമായ പി.വി. ഗംഗാധരന്‍ ക്ലാപ്പ് ഇന്‍ ചെയ്തു. ചടങ്ങില്‍ മംമ്ത മോഹന്‍ദാസ്, സംവൃത സുനില്‍, അഴകപ്പന്‍, ശ്രീജിത് ഗുരുവായൂര്‍, വിനേശ് ബംഗ്ലാന്‍, ടി.കെ. സുരേഷ്ബാബു, ദീദി ദാമോദരന്‍, മാതൃഭൂമി ഇലക്‌ട്രോണിക് മീഡിയ മാനേജര്‍ കെ.ആര്‍. പ്രമോദ് തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു.

ദിലീപ് നായകനാകുന്ന ചിത്രത്തില്‍ മംമ്ത മോഹന്‍ദാസും സംവൃത സുനിലുമാണ് നായികമാര്‍. ബിജു മേനോന്‍, ജഗതി ശ്രീകുമാര്‍, മാടമ്പ്, ഊര്‍മിള ഉണ്ണി, വിജയഗോപന്‍, ദിനേശ് പണിക്കര്‍, ചിത്ര അയ്യര്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവരാണ് മറ്റു പ്രധാന താരങ്ങള്‍.
പിക്ചര്‍ പെര്‍ഫക്ടിന്റെ ബാനറില്‍ ടി.കെ. സുരേഷ്‌കുമാര്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ തിരക്കഥയും സംഭാഷണവും എഴുതുന്നത് ശ്യാമപ്രസാദ് തന്നെയാണ്. കലാസ്‌നേഹികളും ഉത്സാഹികളുമായ സിനിമാ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുള്ള കോഴിക്കോട്ട് ചിത്രം ഒരുക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ത്രില്ലിലാണ് താനെന്ന് ശ്യാമപ്രസാദ് പറഞ്ഞു.

'ഒരേ കടല്‍' എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിനുശേഷം ശ്യാമപ്രസാദും അഴകപ്പനും ഒന്നിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രമാണിത്. പ്രത്യേക ലൈറ്റിങ്ങാണ് അഴകപ്പന്‍ ഈ ചിത്രത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. സോണി എഫ് ത്രീ ക്യാമറയിലാണ് ചിത്രീകരണം. പ്രിയദര്‍ശന്റെ 'ഒരു മരുഭൂമിക്കഥ'യ്ക്കുശേഷം അഴകപ്പന്‍ ഛായാഗ്രഹണം നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രമാണിത്.

ഗോവയില്‍ മലയാളി ഫെസ്റ്റിവല്‍ അരങ്ങുണര്‍ന്നു

 സന്തോഷ് ശിവന്റെ 'ഉറുമി'ക്ക് തിരികൊളുത്തിയതോടെ 42-ാമത് ഗോവ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ചലച്ചിത്രോത്സവത്തില്‍ മലയാളി ഫെസ്റ്റിവലും അരങ്ങുണര്‍ന്നു. മാധുരി ദീക്ഷിതും ജാക്കിഷ്‌റോഫും താരസാന്നിധ്യമായ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പനോരമ ഉദ്ഘാടനച്ചടങ്ങില്‍ 'ഉറുമി'യുടെ സംവിധായകന്‍ സന്തോഷ്ശിവനും രചയിതാവ് ശങ്കര്‍ രാമകൃഷ്ണനും വേദിയില്‍ ആദരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഫിയാഫ് ഫസ്റ്റ് വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് പി.വി.ഗംഗാധരന്‍, സംവിധായകന്‍ ഷാജി എന്‍.കരുണ്‍, ഫെസ്റ്റിവല്‍ ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ശങ്കര്‍മോഹന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ സിനിമയ്‌ക്കെത്തിയിരുന്നു.

സലിം അഹമ്മദിന്റെ 'ആദാമിന്റെ മകന്‍ അബു'വാണ് മലയാളത്തെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ച് ലോകസിനിമാ മത്സരവിഭാഗത്തിലുള്ളത്. മത്സരവിഭാഗത്തിലെ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ പരിഗണനയ്‌ക്കെടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഭാഷാ പരിഗണന ഒരു മാനദണ്ഡമായെടുക്കുകയെന്നത് ഒരു ജൂറിയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കാര്യമല്ലെന്നും അടൂര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. മികച്ച സിനിമ മാത്രമാണ് മാനദണ്ഡം.

Rajinikanth New Film is not 'Rana' ?

Due to severe physical stress to be tolled upon, makers of ‘Rana’ have dropped the idea of making the project with rajinikanth. Although disappointing for Fans across the world, here is more to refresh because Eros International who invested money with Soundarya rajinikanth has decided to got for a 3D project rather than extending ‘Rana.’

Yes, official Kollywood report is that Soundarya would direct her dad rajinikanth for a film titled ‘Kochadaiyaan’ (Dubbed Telugu version isn’t given a title) for which story and script would be given by KS Ravi Kumar, who is actually the director of stalled ‘Rana.’ It’s already informed by doctors that Super Star should not be stressed beyond a limit as he still needs more rest to regain the original health. Shooting of ‘Kochadaiyaan’ might begin any time in December.

Thalapathy in hindi ??

Bollywood producer Bharat Shah has bought the remake rights of Mani Ratnam's superhit film Thalapathi on his trip down south last month.

This is only the second film, after Alaipayuthey, for which the ace director has sold off the remake rights. A source informed CT, "Bharat bhai shares a very good personal and professional rapport with Mani sir. They had co-produced Saathiya with Yash Chopra earlier, which turned out to be a hit. He was keen to buy the remake rights of Thalapathi as the script and the treatment of the film has all the pre-requisites for an entertaining Hindi film."

Thalapathi starring Rajinikanth and Mammootty in the lead roles was inspired by the friendship between Karna and Duryodhana in the Mahabharata. The remake will be directed by Puja Jatinder Bedi, who has worked behind the scenes for films like Mangal Pandey, The Myth and Saathiya.

An excited Puja said, "The film was made in 1991; so, I plan to modernize parts of the story as well as a few action sequences. However, I plan to keep the screenplay and the characters intact." Bharat Shah confirmed the story and added, "The project will commence after the release of Ghost (which has been directed by Puja)."

Gajamela for Thiruvambady Thampan

Fresh from the superhit 'Shikaar', director Padmakumar and scriptwriter Sureshbabu has already started shooting for their new movie 'Thiruvambady Thampan'. The crew  of the film has already completed their first schedule of shoot at Bihar, where the big  'Gajamela' at Zoanpur  was recorded for the movie. The movie will feature Sneha as the heroine to Jayaram. 'Maina' fame Thambi Ramaia will also debut into Malayalam with the movie  which will be on to its second schedule at Thrissur from the 27th of this month. Produced by Alex in the banner of Jili films, the movie will be shot at Madhura, Marayoor, and Pollachy before getting completed.

Revathy's 'Mad Dad'

After a few notable films in Hindi and  Tamil , director Revathy S. Varma  will start canning her first movie in Malayalam shortly. Titled as 'Mad Dad', the  movie will have Lal and Shwetha Menon in the lead roles with able support from Archana kavi, Harishree Ashokan, Salimkumar, Lalu Alexand  Janaardhanan. The movie which will start its shoot at Ernakulam and surrounding areas will be produced by P N Venugopal in the banner of P N V associates.

Babu Antony to call the shots

Though not a regular in commercial cinema now, actor Babu Antony is all set to restart a filmi career as a director. As per the early information, Babu will soon call the shots for a musical thriller which will be scripted by John Paul. The movie will feature the front line artist and technicians of Mollywood. It is also reported that Babu's wife will also lend her voice for a song in the movie which will tell the story of a modern day poet.

Babu Antony was the regular hero in the late  nineties when a few movies with him as a sole hero earned good bucks from the Box office. Recently, he was seen in films like 'Uppukandam Brothers back in action',' K K Road' and Twenty:20'.

Lal to get leaner, leaves for Spain

As various strikes are taking their toll on Mollywood, superstar Mohanal has decided to make the best use of the time.The actor who had been working in continuous schedules for quite some days in the sets of 'Oru Marubhoomikkadha', 'Tez' and 'Casanova', has completed the  portions in the movies and is taking a break from films. He has already left for Spain with his family, where he will spent at least a month celebrating the holidays. The actor is also said to be under some treatment which will be making him look leaner and help him lose some weight. Lal has decided to to have a fit look for his next film  with director  B Unnikrishnan which in his immediate project. The superstar will be cast as an intelligent police officer in this film titled 'Grand Master' which will be produced by UTV motion pictures.

Reports are that Mohanlal will also visit Norway, before he comeback to Kerala to join the sets of 'Grand Master' by the last week of December.

'Shutter' completes its first schedule

Media person and former actor Joy Mathew (Of 'Amma Ariyaan' fame) has completed the first schedule shoot of his debut directorial venture 'Shutter' at Kozhikkod. Featuring Lal and Sreenivasan in the lead roles, the movie will try a different route to present the social realities of the times. This is the second movie by Rasool Pookkutty in Malayalam, who will be attempting a mesmerizing sound design. Vinay Fort, Sajitha Madathil, Vijayan karanthoor, Apunni Sashi, Riya, and Nisha Joseph are in the cast of the movie which is cinematographed by Hari Nair.'Shutter' is produced by Sathyan Booklet in the banner of Abra films international.

42ാമത് അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ചലച്ചിത്രമേളയ്ക്ക് തുടക്കമായി. മഡ്ഗാവിലെ രവീന്ദ്രഭവന്‍ കോംപ്ലക്‌സില്‍ നടന്ന ഉദ്ഘാടന ചടങ്ങില്‍ ബോളിവുഡ് സൂപ്പര്‍ താരം ഷാരൂഖ് ഖാന്‍ മേളയ്ക്ക് തിരിതെളിച്ചു. കേന്ദ്രവാര്‍ത്താ വിതരണ പ്രക്ഷേപണ വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി അംബിക സോണി ചടങ്ങില്‍ സന്നിഹിതയായിരുന്നു. ഡിസംബര്‍ മൂന്നുവരെ നടക്കുന്ന മേളയില്‍ വിവിധ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നായി 300 ഓളം ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കും.

പനജിയിലെ 'ഐനോക്‌സ്' മള്‍ട്ടിപ്ലക്‌സും കലാഅക്കാദമി ഓഡിറ്റോറിയവുമാണ് ചലച്ചിത്രമേളയുടെ വേദികള്‍. ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തിന്‌ശേഷം പോര്‍ച്ചുഗീസ് ചിത്രമായ 'ദി കോണ്‍സുല്‍ ഓഫ് ബോര്‍ഡാക്‌സ്' പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിച്ചു.

മലയാളത്തില്‍നിന്ന് 8 ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 45 ചിത്രങ്ങളാണ് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പനോരമവിഭാഗത്തില്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കുക. ഇതില്‍ 24 ഫീച്ചര്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങളും 21 നോണ്‍ഫീച്ചര്‍ ചിത്രങ്ങളും പെടുന്നു. സന്തോഷ്ശിവന്റെ 'ഉറുമി'യാണ് പനോരമയിലെ ഉദ്ഘാടന ചിത്രം. മലയാളത്തിന്റെ അഭിമാനമായ സലിം അഹമ്മദിന്റെ 'ആദാമിന്റെ മകന്‍ അബു' മത്സരവിഭാഗത്തിലുണ്ട്. ആദ്യമായി ത്രിഡി, ആനിമേഷന്‍ വിഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി പ്രത്യേക സെഷനമുണ്ട്. വിഖ്യാത സംവിധായകന്‍ അടൂര്‍ ഗോപാലകൃഷ്ണനാണ് ജൂറി ചെയര്‍മാന്‍.

സോഹന്‍റോയ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'ഡാം 999' എന്ന ചിത്രം തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിലെ തിയേറ്ററുകളില്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതില്ലെന്ന് ഫിലിം എക്‌സിബിറ്റേഴ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. മുല്ലപ്പെരിയാര്‍ പ്രശ്‌നത്തില്‍ തമിഴ്‌നാടിന്റെ വികാരങ്ങളെ ഹനിക്കുന്നതും പുതിയ അണക്കെട്ട് നിര്‍മിക്കണമെന്ന കേരളത്തിന്റെ ആവശ്യത്തോട് കൂറു പുലര്‍ത്തുന്നതുമായ രംഗങ്ങള്‍ ചിത്രത്തിലുണ്ടെന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രീയപ്പാര്‍ട്ടികളും സംഘടനകളും ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയതിനാലാണിതെന്ന് തമിഴ്‌നാട് ഫിലിം എക്‌സിബിറ്റേഴ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് എം.അണ്ണാമലൈ ചെന്നൈയില്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചയാണ് 'ഡാം 999' തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടില്‍ റിലീസുചെയ്യാന്‍ പദ്ധതിയിട്ടിരുന്നത്.

Sreesanth, ready for a movie?

With plenty of reasons attributing to fitness, Santhakumaran Sreesanth has been out of the international cricket for quite some months. But the 'showman' in Indian cricket has rightly decided to use much of his free time before the movie camera like his fellow cricketers like Jadega and Kambli. As per the reports coming in, Sreesanth has agreed to play himself in the debut movie of Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, titled as 'Mazhavillinattam Vare'. Sreesanth is said to be cast as a spirited cricketer who is also the mentor of youngsters in the field.

The actor, who is pretty interested in doing more films in the near future, finds both his game of cricket and films linked very much. He also reveals that he has been getting many offers in the post match parties from the filmy celebrities, as his dancing and singing skills are well known.

The biggest cricketer ever from the state is also engaged with his 16- member music band in the title S36. Sreesanth has got big plans in his mind for his band which has recently performed in Kochi.

'Karthika as 'Annakodi'

After much wait from 'Ko' -her debut superhit in Tamil, Malayalee actress Karthika has finally grabbed a big role. She will be cast as a village girl named Annakodi in the new Bharathiraja movie 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum'. Few will also remember that it was the same Bharathiraja himself who presented Karthika's' mother, actress Radha to filmdom three decades ago.

Debutante Lekshmanan will be Karthikas' hero in the movie, while director Ameer will take a new look to be in the role of the villain in the movie. This 44th feature film from the veteran director is continuing with its shoot at Theni.

Swapnasanchari and Nayika Confirm to November 25

As the strikes that were on run by almost all the organisations in the business is finally getting over, newer films will start getting into theatres by the end of this week. The first to arrive will be Kamal's 'Swapnasanchari' and Jayaraj Moive NAYIKA.In Swapnasanchari Jayaram in the lead. The movie produced by True line cinema will get to around 60 theatres, distributed by Central pictures.

With a clean 'U' certificate and exciting comedy by Jayaram and Kamal in the scripts of K Gireeshkumar, the movie is expected to do well, particularly due to the reason that Malayalees had been away from any new films for the last few weeks. Featuring Samvrutha Sunil as the heroine, 'Swapna Sanchari' will also have Jagathy, Innocent and Harishri Ashokan in other important roles.

       NAYIKA is the story of Gracy (Sharada) a leading star until she suddenly disappeared from the silver screen. Now, Aleena (Mamta) has come to do a documentary on her life. Aleena unravels the mystery surrounding Gracy\'s life and her sudden disappearance from the silver screen. Jayaram dons the role of a prominent hero of those times and Padmapriya stars as the younger version of Gracy. Siddique also has a major role in the film, playing the character of Stephen Muthalali, the owner of a prominent film studio. Sharada, Sabitha Jayaraj, KPAC Lalitha are also in the cast. The movie is produced by Thomas Benjamin. Deedi Damodaran is the script writer. Sreekumaran Thampy\'s lines have been composed by M. K. Arjunan. A remixed version of the golden oldie \'Kasthuri Manakkunnallo..\'from the 1975 film Picnic has been included in the film. Cinematographer is Sinu Murikkumpuzha. \"Nayika is the story of a heartthrob from the past named Gracy who ruled the screen for a while and later disappeared from the scene. A young filmmaker Aleena (Mamta Mohandas) unveils the mysteries in her life through a documentary,\" says Jayaraj.

Prithviraj is out of Mumbai Police

Actor Prithviraj has been ruled out of the upcoming project ‘Mumbai Police’ by Roshan Andrews. The script was written with Prithvi and Arya in lead roles. Report says that Mammootty would get the role of Prithvi. This is the second movie from which Prithviraj is ruling out recently. Last week he was replaced by Unni Mukundan in ‘Mallu Singh’.
